How Do You Find The Time to Write?

Updated: Aug 5, 2019

Being that I am a family man and work full time, the number one question that I get is "How do you find the time to write?"

To be honest, I don't. I don't find the time. I make the time.

In this world of social media addiction and the insatiable need to stay updated, the number one past-time is to mindlessly stare into ones phone. First thing in the morning, the last thing before bed, and every free second in between. Well, if you have the time to check your feed, or mindlessly scroll through endless memes and quotes on your Instagram or Facebook, then you definitely have time to work on your novel. That is how I see it.

No excuses.

It really isn't that difficult.

If you love something, you make time for it, no matter the cost.

Don't get me wrong, I am all over my social media pages. I just make sure that I sit down and add to my story. You don't have to write pages and pages either. One line, one scene, or one page at a time is all you really need. As long as you are moving the story forward and making progress.

Just write.
